Meet your guide at 8:00am at your hotel. Depart aboard a 4WD Toyota TX. Cross the Atlas Mountains through the Tizi n'Tichka pass. Lunch in Ouarzazate and visit the movie studios (optional). Discover the beautiful kasbah of Aït Ourir. Continue towards Agdz across the Anti Atlas the stratification of which allows you to read the history of our Earth like an open book.

Day 2: Agdez – Ghazala Camp.

Enjoy a magic descent over the tracks of the Draa Valley and their ancestral kasbahs of unique architecture. Meet the local people over a homestead lunch with the inhabitants of the last village of the Draa Valley, where the road disappear under the dunes. Discover breathtaking desert landscapes as the sun sets on an ocean of dunes from the top of a camel. Settle in and kick back at the camp with fine dining under the stars around an open Campfire.

Day 3: Ghazala Camp

Wake up early to enjoy the sunrise in the dunes. Breakfast facing the dunes and adventure day in the desert. We recommend a camel trek with your local guide. Gentle walk through ergs and regs to discover the fauna, the flora and the nomadic people. Lunch in the middle of nowhere then return to the camp (possible route in 4wd). As options you can add quad excursions, massages, cooking classes. Night at Ghazala Camp

Day 4: Ghazala Camp – Taroudant

After breakfast, we drive another 90 km across the Sahara across the now dried-up Lake Iriqui. You can search for fossils on the edge of the lake. At the edge of the desert lies Foum Zguid.  The word “foum” means “mouth”, so the name of the town is “the Mouth of the Zguid River”. From here the road takes us north to Taznakht, famous for its Berber gelims and carpets. You stop here for lunch. After crossing the Tizi-n-Ikhsane and Tizi-n-Tighatine passes, we reach Taliouine, the heart of the saffron growing region. There is a small saffron museum about saffron production, which is well worth a visit. As you enter, the scent is delicious. The road takes you on to Taroudant, where you stop for the night.

Day 5: Taroudant – Essaouira

In the morning, you will visit to the town, known as “the little Marrakech”. It is spectacular for its massive ramparts and beautiful medina. From here you travel west as far as Agadir, travelling along the Souss river valley with all its thousands of argane trees, endemic to Morocco.  Argane oil has a high nutritional value, is used cosmetically for the skin and hair, and the leaves and “waste” products of the nuts are valuable animal fodder. The road then travels up the coast, driving through Taghazout, a surfers’ paradise. On arriving in Essaouira, you can explore the town, the Skala, the medina and all its innumerable shops as well as the seafront with its fresh fish restaurants. The night is spent in Essaouira.
